Edwin: I just purchased my second seagate 1.5 tb drive as I find them to be quite affordable for such a large drive. That said, hard-drives do fail, and I did have a problem with my first seagate drive. I returned it to Seagate and they promptly replaced it. Why do drives fail? There are three reasons - manufacturing defect, shock and overheating. Lower priced drives; such as this one, are usually not as shock resistant as more expensive drives. I...
Oseriduun: From design perspective, this thing looks great. Its glossy finish fits well with any kind of computer setup. Feels a bit flimsy but that is to be expected from the plastic finish. Heating wise, I've been running this attached to the Linksys e4200 so it's always in use and I am amazed at how little heat this drive generates. Data transfer rates are a bit slow for my taste but overall, its a great drive for network storage...
David Skokan: I purchased one of these recently, the first one did not seem to work so I exchanged it for the same. I had the same problem, it would work on and off. One possible solution I will be trying is putting a powered usb hub between this unit and my computer. I have to say other than this it works great, and...

Windows recognizes it and can view files on the drive, but USB transfers, especially large ones, using Windows Explorer hang partway through and never complete. Transfers seemed to be working fine if I used the software included with the drive, but I did not want something running in the bac...
